Gharam Kuku

Wapendwa, I love this easy recipe and it goes well with almost anything! I hope you try it and please let me know when you do! NOTE: Chicken varies in size. If your chicken is larger or smaller than mine, Adjust the cooking time so you get the tenderness and cooked-throughness you desire. Happy cooking!

Ingredients

 

350g Chicken pieces

1 tomato pureed

1 Bell pepper diced

1 Onion diced

1TBSP tomato paste

1 TBSP grated ginger

1 TBSP Garlic paste

2 TSP Cooking oil

 

**SPICES

2TSP Gharam Marsala

1 TSP Turmeric powder

1 Seasoning cube

1’2 tsp chilli flakes/powder

Salt, Pepper to taste

Method

  • Heat oil on medium-high, and add all spices. Roast briefly for about 15 seconds
  • Add onions, cook stirring for 1-2 minutes
  • Add garlic and ginger paste. Cook stirring for 2 minutes
  • Add the chicken pieces and seasoning cube, salt and pepper, stir and lower the heat. Let it cook in its own juices for 6-8 minutes
  • Stir every 3 minutes to avoid sticking to the pan
  • Add tomato, tomato paste and bell pepper and cook stirring until tomatoes are cooked through about 5 minutes
  • Adjust thickness by adding water to your liking, and adjust salt and pepper
  • Serve and enjoy
